Psyche was a beautiful woman. So beautiful, many of the people in her village thought her either descended of the gods, or a goddess herself. They regularly compared her beauty to that of Aphrodite. Aphrodite was aware of this false claim. but let it slide, she had bigger things on her mind. But eventually the citizens began to worship Psyche instead of Aphrodite, and this is when Aphrodite takes action.
Aphrodite sends her son, Eros, better known by his Roman name Cupid, to make Psyche fall in love with someone and get married, thus taking her off the market and losing the adulation of the villagers. Eros goes down to do his mothers bidding, but when he sets eyes on Psyche, he falls in love with her.
Now Psyche's father has been trying to marry her off, but Psyche is picky (rightly so) and doesn't accept any of the men her father brings to her. So her father consults the oracles. The oracle informs him Psyche's husband will be a beast more terrifying that can be conceieved, a creature than strikes fear even in the heart of Zeus. So, naturally, he goes home to prepare Psyche her her foretold beast of a husband.
Zephyr, God of the West Wind, whisks Psyche away to a castle, at the behest of Eros. She explores the castle noting that it is perfectly decorated and organized for her tastes. As she prepared for bed the first night, she blew out her candle, and in the dark she heard a mans voice, Introducing himself as her husband, and that she must never set eyes on him. Psyche agrees. And through the nights they became closer, and closer, and Psyche began to realize this man did not feel like a beast, but like a man. She slowly becomes suspicious of who she is sleeping with.
One night, she hides a lit lamp under a thick cloth so no light could escape and waited for her husband to arrive. When he arrrives, they meet in the bed, and when she is sure he is asleep, she slips out and uncovers the lamp to show Eros in her bed, White feathery wings and all. At the foot of her bed, she sees his Bow and Arrow. Reaching out she caresses the arrows, nicking her finger. Eros' love tipped arrow does it's work and Psyche falls deeply and magically in love with Eros. Leaning forward some of the hot oil from the lamp drips onto Eros. Waking him immediately.
Eros explains the truth, and Psyche forgives all the deception. Eros then leaves Psyche to go discuss their future together with his mother. Aphrodite cast many trails to the pair to prove a mere mortal was worthy of her son. Each one the pair passed, much to Aphrodite's ire. Ultimately Aphrodite is forced to concede the pair and allow the marriage to continue.

The yarn is dyed in the same pot, but that by no means promises they will each take the dye the same. If you are making a large project, please feel free to reach out and I can work with you to ensure the yarn you get is from the same dyelot, or dye them special for you. I want to ensure your product turns out as beautifully as you imagine it!
