Pegasus is the Winged Horse of Legend. The offspring of Poseidon, Lord of the Sea and Horses, and Medusa, the gorgon cursed by Athena. At the time when Athena laid her curse upon Medusa, she had already been impregnated by Poseidon. The curse kept her stuck in an immortal body unable to grow or change. When Perseus came to hunt Medusa, he decapitated the gorgon and from her Headless body sprung Pegasus and Chysaor.

Years later, Bellerophon enlisted the help of Pegasus to take down the Chimera. After such a feat the two were bonded and went off to slay beasts of all kinds. Until the day Bellerophon fell from Pegasus's back and fell to his death. Now Pegasus is honored as a constellation in the clear night sky. He also carries thunder and lightning for Zeus.

This is a preorder yarn and will be shipped out in March.

Pictured on 75/25 BFL/Nylon. Pattern is the Ashton Shawlette by Dee O'Keefe. A free pattern and an excellent introduction to lace work!

Wet block when finished working. Some color bleeding may happen on first wash.

The yarn is dyed in the same pot, but that by no means promises they will each take the dye the same. If you are making a large project, please feel free to reach out and I can work with you to ensure the yarn you get is from the same dyelot, or dye them special for you. I want to ensure your product turns out as beautifully as you imagine it!

Studio is not pet-free, cats and dogs are present. I try my best to avoid their contact with product, but alas. They are powerful beings.

Handwash with wash of your choice, lay flat to dry.

Care Instructions

As this is a wool product it is fairly naturally self-cleansing. Socks should be handwashed after approximately 3 wears. Sweaters are good for up to 10 wears. And Shawls/Scarfs/Wraps are good for months.

Or you can use your own judgement and wash them when they start to smell. Do your thing, boo.

Handwash with your favorite soap, and lay flat to dry.
